Hello Educator and/or Parent,

Before you to select the link to The Bernie Jones Assembly let me explain that we are currently working on our schedule for the 2009 - 2010 school year. We are expanding are programs to include an evening fundraiser for schools and workshops. Our current website describes The Bernie Jones Assembly for elementary schools and will, soon, describe our newest programs listed below.

• Evening Family Fundraiser with Sharon Bushell and Johnny B. - A 45 to 50 minute program for the entire program filled with piano music and stories. Johnny B. discusses the art of practicing "whatever your 'thing'* may be." This program is designed to be entertaining and uptempo. Schools can request a certain theme for the fundraiser such as reading and writing, bullying, stay in school, say no to drugs, etc... Sharon and Johnny B. will incorporate the theme throughout the program.
• School Day Writing Workshops with Sharon Bushell - Author of award winning fiction and non-fiction books, Sharon shares her techniques and excercises that are guaranteed to instill a love of writing. 30 to 45 minute sessions depending on grade level.
• School Day Music Workshops with Johnny B. - After 50+ years of playing the piano, Johnny B. has some tips on performance and practicing that budding musicians should hear. 30 to 45 minute sessions depending on grade level.
• How To Keep My Child Enjoying His/Her Lessons - A Parent Only Workshop with Johnny B. 45 mins.
• The Johnny B. Assembly - is more than boogie-woogie piano, Alaskan dreamscape compositions and toe-tapping musical stories. The Johnny B. Assembly is about storytelling, practicing, giving your all to a task, sudoku puzzles and understanding where a song comes from. This is a motivational program that will fit with any theme your school is promoting. 50 mins.
• The Bernie Jones Assembly - A 55 minute all-school assembly about reading and writing. Johnny B. plays boogie-woogie and original piano music and Sharon Bushell reads a complete story from one of her Bernie Jones mid-level fiction books. Questions and answers follow the story with more piano music before the students snap their fingers back to the classroom. Sharon and Johnny B. return the following day for a book signing.

*This is for students and parents of students involved with any of the arts and/or sports. After years of deep practice anyone can become gifted.
